I slept with my dad

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sophie. She was ten years old and lived with her mother and father in a small village. Sophie was a curious and cheerful child, always busy discovering the world around her. But deep inside, she carried a secret, a secret that kept her awake every night.

Ā

One evening, when her mother was away for work, her father asked her to sleep in his bed. Sophie felt uncomfortable, but she didnā€™t quite know how to respond. Her father said it was okay, that he would take care of her. Sophie didnā€™t dare to disagree, afraid of making him angry or disappointing her mother. So, she crawled under the blankets, with a knot in her stomach.

Ā

Every time her father asked her to sleep with him again, Sophie felt more and more uneasy. She knew something was wrong, but she didnā€™t know how to tell her mother. Her father was always kind to her, but there was something heavy about those moments together, something she couldnā€™t explain.

Ā

Sophie began to withdraw from her friends. She laughed less, and her bright eyes lost their sparkle. Her mother noticed, but thought Sophie was just growing up, and that it was perhaps part of her age. Sophie wanted so badly to tell her mother, but every time she tried, something inside her blocked it. What if her mother didnā€™t believe her? What if she thought Sophie was lying?

Ā

One evening, when Sophie felt lost again, she remembered something her teacher had once said: ā€œIf something doesnā€™t feel right, you should always talk to someone you trust.ā€ Those words echoed in her mind, and eventually, she found the courage to go to her mother.

Ā

She started crying before she could say anything. Her mother was shocked and immediately took her into her arms. In broken sentences, Sophie explained what had been happening lately. Her mother listened, tears in her eyes, but without interrupting her.

Ā

That night, everything changed. Sophieā€™s mother immediately protected her and promised to do everything to keep her safe. For the first time in a long while, Sophie felt relieved, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders.

Ā

It was the beginning of a long process, but Sophie knew she was no longer alone. She had found her voice again, and that made her stronger than ever before.

Ā

Sophieā€™s story shows how important it is to speak up, even when itā€™s difficult. By talking, she was able to get the help she needed, and that changed her life.
